A couple nights ago I was walking to the barn and realized that aside from the few small solar-charged lanterns that go up the side of the barn stairway, there were dozens of flickering lights, all going at different times. They were near and far, in trees and up in the clouds - all of them fireflies.
I had never seen so many at once, so randomly timed, or so high in the sky. It was incredibly beautiful and felt like a magical, intimate scene that I should have had to purchase tickets to witness.
