Speaking of sprouts, Richmond has a local CSA - "community supported agriculture" - normally you pay a yearly fee and then get a share of fresh veggies each week. Sometimes you're required to help out in the garden, and an hour or so a week pulling weeds and helping out can be a great way for kids to learn about where our food comes from!
